Antimicrobial Technologies
Hospitals spend $30 billion each year to treat Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs).
How we Help to combat the Hai problem
At a cost of $9 billion a year, over 2 million patient experiences, and 90,000 deaths, Hospital Associated Infections (HAIs) are a significan cause of patient harm. HAI is a “syndrome” of policies, effects and reservoirs of invasive and non-invasive causes.
We have partnered with enterprising global vendors to develop innovative programs and technologies for controlling the spread of infection; our program provides a sustainable nanotechnology protective barrier and best available technologies to inhibit a broad spectrum of microbial pathogens. Prevailing cleaning processes create “gaps” in the infection control process which promotes microbial regrowth.
Utilizing these best available technologies, StarSource targets the non-invasive HAI reservoirs such as the medical linens and high touch point surfaces in the patient environment, and when our program is incorporated into the EVS cleaning process with ICP protocols, a system is created to provide sustainable inhibition to microbial growth ranging from medical linens to patient room high touch point surfaces.
Resulting in:
People impacted by HAIs/year
Patients that will contract an HAI
Hospital spending to treat HAIs
Est. patient deaths/year from HAIs
Our Non-Invasive HAI Dual Solution
STRATEGY # 1
TREAT LINENS THAT TOUCH THE PATIENT
to control infection on lab coats, smocks, bed linens. In collaboration with ICP and EVS stakeholders we can control infection on textiles (such as medical linens).
Benefits:
- Aligns to EVS maintenance process
- Broad spectrum microbe control
- Improves patient safety
- Documents risk management
- Saves money for reallocations
STRATEGY # 2
CONTROL MICROBES ON HIGH TOUCH POINT SURFACES
to control infection on bed rails, counter tops, floors, door knobs, phones, equipment screens, etc. In collaboration with ICP and EVS stakeholders we can control infection on hard surfaces.
Benefits:
- Aligns to EVS maintenance process
- Broad spectrum microbe control
- Improves patient safety
- Documents risk management
- Saves money for reallocations
